FetchLab ("the app") is a simple web browser for testing how web requests behave in two modes: "Browser network" and "App network". This policy explains what information the app handles.
1. Overview
FetchLab ("the app") is a simple web browser for testing how web requests behave in two modes: "Browser network" and "App network". This policy explains what information the app handles.
In short: we do not have user accounts, we do not run our own servers that receive your browsing data, and we do not sell or share personal data.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect, store on our servers, or receive any of the following through the app:
- Your name, email address, or other account details (the app has no accounts)
- Your browsing history, the pages you visit, or the text you type into websites
- Your location, contacts, photos, or files
- Advertising identifiers
The app contains no advertising or third-party analytics tools. [If you later add analytics or crash reporting, update this section.]
3. Information Handled on Your Device
Some data stays on your device only and is never sent to us:
- Browsing state: The app keeps normal in-session browser data such as the page history for back/forward navigation. The app's browser cache and site storage (for example, local storage used by websites) may be saved on your device by Android's WebView component. You can remove this by clearing the app's storage in your Android settings or by uninstalling the app.
- Cookies: Cookies are disabled in the app. Cookies are not saved between pages or sessions.
- App network setting: The choice between Browser network and App network is not saved. It resets to "Browser network" each time the app opens.
4. Information Sent to Websites and Other Services
When you use a browser, your device contacts the websites you visit. This is how the internet works, and it is not controlled by us.
- Websites you visit: The sites you open receive standard technical information, such as your IP address, your device's browser identifier (user agent), and the request itself. In App network mode, the app sends the page's requests using the same identifier and your device's IP address. The privacy practices of those websites are their own, and we are not responsible for them.
- Search: If you type words instead of a web address into the address bar, the app sends your search to Google Search. Google's privacy policy applies to that search.
- Safe Browsing: [If you enable Safe Browsing: The app uses Google Safe Browsing through Android WebView, which may check web addresses against a list of unsafe sites. Google's privacy policy applies.]
5. Permissions
The app uses the Internet permission so it can load web pages. It does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, or storage. File downloads and uploads are disabled.
6. Data Sharing and Sale
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties, because we do not collect it.
7. Security
The app applies restrictions to reduce risk: cookies are disabled, downloads and uploads are disabled, and in the released app, requests to private or local network addresses are blocked. However, no software can guarantee complete security.
You should not enter passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information into websites using this app, and you should only use App network mode on websites you trust.
8. Children's Privacy
FetchLab is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app can open any public website, parents should supervise use by children.
9. Your Choices
- You can clear all locally stored data at any time from Android Settings → Apps → FetchLab → Storage → Clear data.
- You can uninstall the app at any time to remove all data stored by it on your device.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at here.
